What we do when we arrive
First we find the cause, rather than just flicking the RCD back up. We check the fuse box and isolate circuits until we find the fault: an appliance, a damp socket, a damaged cable or a burnt connection.
If it can be fixed there and then, we leave it working. If it needs parts or more time, we make the installation safe and get the power back on where we can, then tell you what needs doing and what it will cost before going any further.
Often there's more than one problem
One fault tends to reveal others. If we spot an RCD that isn't protecting you or an old fuse box that runs hot, we'll tell you, even if it isn't what you called us for. You decide whether to fix it now or later.

What should I do while I wait?+
If something smells burnt or you see sparks, switch off the main switch on the fuse box and don't touch anything wet. If the power is off, check first whether your neighbours or the street have lost it too: if they have, it's the supply company, not your installation.
