A tidy fuse box, with every circuit separate and labelled, protects you better and means any future fault can be found in minutes. An old or improvised one is behind a lot of tripping RCDs and hot sockets.
When we replace a fuse box we also check what hangs off it: that each circuit has the right cable and protection for what's connected to it.

When should a fuse box be replaced?+
If it's old, has no RCD, or can't cope with how you use the house now: air conditioning, an induction hob, the oven and the washing machine at the same time. Also if it trips often for no clear reason or something in it gets hot.
Do you do full rewiring during a renovation?+
Yes. From planning where sockets and lights go, to the fuse box and, if needed, the electrical certificate (boletín).
